There’s no denying that Lucario is one of the coolest Pokémon ever released. After all, Lucario can manipulate aura, is a playable character in Super Smash Bros, and looks like a martial artist in a biker gang.
Despite being wickedly cool, Lucario is not a legendary Pokémon. That does not stop it however from having some amazing Pokémon cards made for it.
Regardless of if you are an avid Lucario collector or just think it’s a cool Pokémon, this article will run through 10 of the coolest Lucario Pokémon cards and their values.

Lucario VSTAR #SWSH214

This Lucario VSTAR Pokémon card was released in 2022 as part of a Lucario VSTAR Premium collection. While it was not particularly hard to get a hold of in English or in a Japanese Version, the art certainly stands out and was worth being added to the list. And at ~$3 for the English and ~$5 for the Japanese version, it’s an easy one to pick up.
That being said, this same card also has an incredibly rare and expensive rainbow Japanese version. It’s current comps in 2024 are ~$900! The reason that card is so expensive is because it was only released in Japan and won in a competition/lottery style event. If you want one of those you will have to fork over some serious dollars!
The Rainbow Lucario VSTAR #305/S-P is actually the most expensive Lucario Pokémon card you can buy! If you’re okay with a non-rainbow lookalike, then go pick yourself up the US or Japanese version for a few bucks.
Lucario VSTAR #SWSH291

Despite the fact that the Lucario VSTAR #SWSH291 Pokémon card is extremely cheap and easy to pick up, it’s art is still arguably one of the coolest arts on the list.
The close-up picture with aura swirling around gives off some serious Dragonball Z vibes, and the glare he gives is no joke. If you or someone you know don’t have this card already, do yourself a favor and pick one up.
If you prefer or would like both, there is a Japanese Version that is only a touch more expensive at ~$5.
Lucario #SV22

If you’ve never had a Shiny Vault Pokémon card before, don’t let the simple picture fool you. The coloring and brightness of the holo on these cards are incredibly unique and Lucario makes for a great Pokemon to show it off. And at only ~$6, it’s not too difficult of one to add to a collection.
If you like this card, check out the Lucario #174 from Paldean Fates as it is a similar Lucario with slightly different art for $7. And yes, there once again is a Japanese version if you’d like to have both!
Lucario & Melmetal GX #203

While Lucario is more than cool enough to stand alone, the Lucario & Melmetal GX Pokémon cards were absolutely worth adding to the list. And because there is a number of variants, you can just pick out your favorites here.
If you like, there is obviously a Japanese Version that might look even better in person than the English version.
If you want a Japanese version with unique coloring, this card has you covered there as well.
And lastly, there is a Rainbow version of this card, because why not?
Lucario GX #122

While the Lucario GX #122 Pokémon card might be the most simple looking on this list, that may be all the more reason it is so cool and deserves to be on it.
While the card shows a simple fighting stance on a seemingly simple background, the foot and ear hanging over the edge of the card gives it a more 3D look and really makes Lucario’s hand and body pop out in a way that other cards don’t.
If you check out some posted versions of this card on eBay, you will find that the patterns and background are actually very interesting and complex.
And want me to make it even better? There is a Shiny Version that completely changes the coloring of the card as well as a Rainbow Version. Need I say more?
Lucario LV.X #DP12

The Lucario LV.X #DP12 is one of the oldest Lucario cards on the list. This card was released as part of a Lucario Collector’s Tin released in 2008. If you have that tin sealed now, it is worth north of $750!
Because this card was included in every one, it doesn’t hold a ton of value unfortunately. That said, the artwork and holo on these older Pokémon cards are incredibly cool and Lucario stands out once again in this one.
M Lucario EX #55a

The M Lucario EX #55a was released in 2014 as part of the Furious Fists set. And while there are some unique cards on this list, this Lucario may take the cake for the most interesting. There is a similar Lucario from the same era with slightly different art for around the same price that is worth checking out too.
This Lucario though almost looks like it’s out of an old comic book. With the lettering across the front and the aura once again swirling around, this card has easily earned a spot on this list.
Lucario EX Full Art #107

The Lucario EX Full art was released in 2014 as part of the Furious Fists Pokémon set, which is exactly the same set as the card above! Similar to the last card also, you can see aura emanating from Lucario as he dashes forward. The bolder lines around the outside make this Lucario stand out incredibly nicely and keeps it unique from another one in the set.
And fortunately for you collectors out there, there is a Japanese Version that can be picked up as well. Take note that it is slightly more expensive than the English version at around $35.
Japanese Lucario ex #6

This next Lucario is actually the oldest Lucario Pokemon card on this list and is one of the first Lucario Pokemon cards ever released.
The Japanese Lucario ex #6 was released in 2005 as part of the Japanese screening of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew movie. While some of the newer Lucario cards may look more interesting and have more design features, there is a huge fan base of this era of cards.
If you haven’t seen one in person before, the way that the holo and reverse holo shine on these cards is particularly unique. And once again, it is pretty hard for Lucario to look bad in the center of one of these.
Japanese Lucario V #304/S-P

There are a few different versions of this card, but we will first highlight the very expensive Japanese Lucario V.
The reason the Japanese Lucario is so expensive is that it was used as another limited competition event. Funny enough, the rainbow Lucario mentioned at the beginning of this article were given to the winners of that competition while the Japanese Lucario V #203/S-P was given to those who reached the single-elimination tournament. Hence why both are so expensive.
The good news is that there is an English version of this card that is only ~$2.50. The other piece of good news is that they are very similar all in all. So regardless of your budget and collection goals, you can pick up this sweet Lucario.
Conclusion
Lucario is one of the coolest Pokémon there is and fortunately there are a lot of Lucario Pokémon cards to help show off how true that is.
