Mew is one of the strongest and most legendary Pokémon ever. Said to be the ancestor of all Pokémon, Mew’s cute outward appearance does not reflect its power and ability. Its no surprise then that there are some pretty sweet and expensive Pokémon cards made for it.
Regardless of your views on Mew, this list has something for everyone. There are a few very cute cards, lots of different colors and artworks, and even some shared with its counterpart, Mewtwo.
Take note that this will not be a most expensive list ever, but rather a list of the average sold prices for these cards both in their raw form as well as in PSA 10! So if you do happen to have some of them, this list should give a reasonable idea of the values!
*Please note that this article was published on 2/22/2025 and card prices may have changed since then.*
Let’s get to it!
#21 – Japanese Mew V #106
Raw: ~$70 | PSA 10: ~$108
Our first mew on the list is the Japanese Mew V #106. While the Japanese version barely edges out the English version in pricing, it takes the #21 spot on the list.
While there will be a number of different art styles, this Mew shows its simple and playful nature while being surrounded by a number of other Pokémon. It is an awesome card regardless and a great way to start off the list!
#20 – Japanese Mew ex #205
Raw: ~$75 | PSA 10: ~$144
The Japanese Mew ex #205 is a very modern Mew from the incredibly popular 151 set. Where the English version of this card was distributed more freely and is less expensive, the Japanese Mew ex is one of the most expensive cards in the entire Japanese 151 set!
Why not pick up both the English and Japanese version while you’re at it?
#19 – Mew EX #120
Raw: ~$80 | PSA 10: ~$1,900
Coming in at #19 is our first vintage Mew. The Mew EX #120 was released in August of 2012 as part of the Dragons Exalted set.
This Mew shows an incredibly unique psychedelic holographic pattern with its tail literally falling outside of the card! It’s holo on the card itself is also incredibly impressive, despite being over 10 years old.
#18 – Mew #1
Raw: ~$80 | PSA 10: ~$2,600
Coming up next is the Mew from the Southern Islands set. This Mew was actually the most expensive in the entire set and could only be obtained through a Pokémon Jungle tour in 1999. You then had to buy a booklet to get the cards within the set!
Because of the way these cards were obtained and the fact that they are reverse holo meant they were pretty tough to get a PSA 10 in. Because of that, this card has a pretty steep PSA 10 price at around $2600!
If you’d like a slightly cheaper version, there is a Japanese version of this Mew that you can get for around $40!
#17 – Mew ex #100
Raw: ~$80 | PSA 10: ~$1,750
Coming up next is the Mew from one of the most expensive Pokémon card sets ever, the Holon Phantoms set! Behind only some of the highly regarded Gold Star Pokémon cards, this Mew sported a reverse holo look with silver borders, rather than the yellow borders of a lot of others.
While this Mew may not be as well known, it’s silver holo and unique art makes this worth having in any Pokémon binder! And because of it being vintage and slightly reverse holo, it demands yet another high PSA 10 price!
#16 – Mew #19
Raw: ~$80 | PSA 10: ~$2,500?
Coming up next is another vintage Mew from the highly regarded Expedition set. While this art shows the mew more in a cute baby style, its move set is a brutal attack to once again take out some of the toughest and most energy loaded Pokémon on the board.
Because the E-Reader set was highly played with, there are not a lot of them in great condition. To that point, this Mew only has 26 PSA 10s in existence! The last one sold was in May of 2020 and was sold for $2499. Who knows what the price may be if it sold today!
If you’d like a cheaper version, there is both a reverse holo version as well as a non-holo version if you’d like to add it to the collection without breaking the bank!
#15 – Mew 1st Place League #53
Raw: ~$85 | PSA 10: ~$1000
Coming up next, the 1st Place League Mew could only be obtained to players who, surprise surprise, won 1st place in their local Pokémon league tournaments. Take note of both the League stamp in the bottom right corner of the Mew and the 1st Place in the bottom left.
Interestingly, this card has a 2nd Place, 3rd Place, and 4th place card also, in case you’d like to keep the theme of “Catch ’em all”. Let’s not also forget the original!
#14 – Mewtwo & Mew GX #SM191
Raw: ~$85 | PSA 10: ~$1,650
Not sure exactly what you were expecting to see on this list, but a very grumpy Mewtwo alongside a laughing Mew might not have been one of them. This Tag Team card was actually a promo card that could only be obtained through a Mewtwo & Mew-GX Tin.
This card was both highly sought after for competitive play as well as highly entertaining generally. If you’re a fan of both Mewtwo and Mew, then this may be a must-have card for you.
#13 – Mew #3
Raw: ~$85 | PSA 10: ~$1,200
Coming in at #13 is the Mew from the POP Series 5 Pokémon set. It falls behind in value only to two of the most expensive Eevelution Pokémon cards of all time.
There is an error version of this card that is even more expensive, where the text does not fit within the box that it is supposed to. Regardless of which one you have, you are lucky to have it!
#12 – Japanese Mewtwo & Mew GX #222
Raw: ~$110 | PSA 10: ~$220
If you like the Mew Mewtwo duo, then are you in for a treat. #12 on the list is the Japanese version of a Mewtwo and Mew GX card, this time from the Japanese Tag All-Stars set.
The cool thing about this card and set is that there is a number of other colors and arts available should you want to fill a whole page with just Mew & Mewtwo.
Regardless of your preference, this is a must-add in any Mew or Mewtwo binder!
#11 – Mewtwo & Mew GX #242
Raw: ~$140 | PSA 10: ~$415
Surprise surprise. Coming in at #11 is the same art as above, but this time in a Rainbow and English version. The Japanese version of this card is cheaper, so the English takes the upper hand here.
Fortunately, the English versions of these cards also have a number of colors and price points so that all collectors can be satisfied.
Is this the end of the Mew & Mewtwo duo on this list?? Keep reading to find out!
#10 – Mew VMAX #269
Raw: ~$150 | PSA 10: ~$350
At #10 we have the Mew VMAX from the Fusion Strikes set. Like other modern cards around this time, this card massively jumped in price after September of 2024 and has continued to rise.
If you prefer shiny and colorful cards in your binder, this Mew might be the best way to go!
#9 – Japanese Ancient Mew [2019]
Raw: ~$160 | PSA 10: ~$350

Before you get too excited thinking this is the Ancient Mew you got when you were a kid, you should know that there are actually 6 different versions of it. The Ancient Mew that was given out in theaters in the 90’s is unfortunately not this one.
Interestingly, this expensive Ancient Mew is the more modern one with a 2019 Copyright along the bottom edge. If you watch the video above, you can figure out how to distinguish each of the Ancient Mews from one another!
If you’d like to pick up the original, you can pick it up here!
#8 – Japanese Mew ex #347
Raw: ~$160 | PSA 10: ~$300
Coming up next is the Japanese version of what is known as the “Bubble Mew”. While cheaper than its English counterpart *cough spoiler alert*, it still quickly found its way to the top 10 Mew cards of all time, despite only being released in December of 2023.
This card was immediately popular upon release and will likely continue to be a major chase card in the coming months and years.
#7 – Japanese Mewtwo & Mew Tag Team GX #98
Raw: ~$160 | PSA 10: ~$770
Thought we were done with the Mew & Mewtwo duo? Think again. This time, it comes to us in the form of the Japanese GX version. This card is actually the most expensive in its set, the Japanese Miracle Twins.
Since there has been enough mention of Mewtwo, it is worth knowing that this card also makes the Most Expensive Mewtwo cards list. Do you need another reason to pick up this one?
#6 – Japanese CoroCoro Shining Mew #151
Raw: ~$185 | PSA 10: ~$3,300
Coming in at #6 is possibly the most favored Mew on this list, the Shining Mew, also known as the CoroCoro Mew. This card could only be obtained through the CoroCoro comic magazine in 1997 and is a Japanese exclusive.
This card is especially favored due to it having a holo that has both cosmic patterns as well as a glitter background that was a staple in some of the more expensive vintage Japanese cards. It was also designed by Ken Sugimori who was one of the original Pokémon card artists.
Because this card was distributed in a magazine, it was tough to get in a PSA 10. Because of that, this card holds one of the highest PSA 10 values on the list!
#5 – Japanese Mew VMAX #119
Raw: ~$300 | PSA 10: ~$400
Coming in at #5 is the Japanese version of our #10 on this list. This card was incredibly hard to pull and therefore comes in incredibly high on this list.
That said, it is not hard to grade in a 10 and therefore has a lower price than most others on this list. It is a great looking card regardless.
#4 – Mew ex #232
Raw: ~$380 | PSA 10: ~$1,000
Coming in at #4 is the English Mew ex #232. The Mew ex, also known as the “Bubble Mew”, was an immediate hit on its release. The child-like art with the other simply drawn Pokémon in the background was immediately admired and sought after.
Upon its release in January of 2024, this card was just under $100. With the Pokémon madness occurring in the past few months though, this card has rocketed up to be nearly $400. While it may not stay that high, it is pretty firmly planted in the #4 spot for now.
#3 – Japanese Gold Star Mew #15
Raw: ~$400 | PSA 10: ~$10,000
Coming in at our #3 spot is the Japanese Gold Star Mew. There are a number of incredibly impressive Gold Star Pokémon cards and this is absolutely one of them.
Despite it coming in at #3 based on raw value, this card has an incredibly firm hold as the top PSA 10 value. Because of its rarity and the fact that these cards got played with A LOT, there are currently only 28 PSA 10’s in existence.
That makes this Mew the most expensive PSA 10 on this entire list!
#2 – Gold Star Mew #101
Raw: ~$550 | PSA 10: ~$3,800
Will you look at that. Coming in as the #2 most expensive raw Mew of all time is the English version of the Gold Star Mew. While the raw value is higher, we can see that the PSA 10 value is not nearly as high as its Japanese counterpart. That is ultimately due to the way the Japanese version was distributed.
Despite that, this Mew remains highly sought after due to its amazing art, age, and rarity. As a comparison, the English Gold Star Mew has 72 PSA 10 copies in existence.
#1 – Japanese Mew ex [Play] #7
Raw: ~$900 | PSA 10: ~$2,200

Coming in at #1 is a Mew that you may not have heard of (and unfortunately won’t have lying around in your attic, or will you?) The Japanese Play Mew ex was not distributed in packs and could only be obtained through participating in official Pokémon TCG events.
As you may guess, this was not an easy card to obtain, even through the events that you earned it through. No-one is quite sure how many copies of this card are floating around in the market, but it is absolutely one of the rarest Mew Pokémon cards in existence.
